Intro

My name is Tongda Shen. A great pleasure to meet you in my website. Now, please allow me to briefly introduce myself.
I am an undergraduate student at New York University. I finished my high school in China. While I enjoyed my high school life in Zhengzhou Foreign Language School, I also worked hard to build a strong knowledge foundation for my future academic career, where I believe I will shine. While I work hard to drain every last bit of knowledge from school, I did not forget the significance of practice and experiences. I put my maximum effort to participate in various of researches and projects. Although it is a tiring schedule, I get to learn and practice my research skills, critical thinking, organizing skills, leading skills, etc. And the happiness and satisfaction I gain from the journey is priceless.
Apart from the academic “me”, I am also a sports-lover, animal-lover, and traveler. Badminton is my favorite. I also play basketball and tennis regularly. My favorite basketball player is DeMar DeRozan, who fights against depression, and recently regains his brilliance at Chicago Bulls.

Academics

My fields of interests mainly focus on psychology, neurology and engineering.
My academic journey starts when I became a volunteer in the rehabilitation center of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University.
I first understand how technology is able to change our life and, more importantly, to help patients. After I finished my volunteer work, I applied to be a participant in the Brain Science Lab of Zhengzhou University. Our team complete a brain-computer-interface based rehabilitation training system. Now, I am working on multiple projects, including the Flexible AI-enabled Mechatronic Systems Lab in NYU and Professor Xiaoke Chen’s lab at Stanford University.
